Internships: Working in Germany

Event organiser

Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz

On the agenda

  • What does the job market in Germany look like in general and what are my job opportunities?
  • How do I find internships? What databases and job portals do I use and in which cases do I maybe have to take a different approach in order to find appropriate jobs/internships?
  • How important is job experience? Do I need to speak German?
  • What could my career path look like and what do I need to get there?

Many young professionals have these or similar questions when they are trying to enter the German labor market.

We want to offer general info on the labor market and help you with finding a career path. We will also give you insight on how to search for internships in Germany.

The presentation is organized and held by experts with years of experience in the field of career orientation and counselling, both from the Career Service of Mainz University as well as the Federal Employment Agency of Germany.

Dennis Voll - Career Service of JGU
Doreen Zillinger - Agentur für Arbeit (Federal Employment Agency of Germany)

This online workshop is free, held in English and open to all students of the FORTHEM Alliance and you can receive a certificate of participation upon request.
