When addressing an international audience, speaking to the group in English may be a must, and your skill in doing so can influence how clearly you're understood and how positively you're perceived. This workshop examines tools for presenting your topic (and yourself) impressively in English and provides opportunities to practice these tools actively. We’ll discuss both verbal and non-verbal aspects of presenting. The overall goal is to explore methods and principles which you can apply to a wide range of presentation situations and to increase your confidence when delivering a talk in English – whether face-to-face or online.
The workshop is very interactive and is held in English which in itself will help you with your English skills.
The workshop is meant to help you:
- Recognize factors which make good presentations good (and bad ones bad)
- Start your talk impressively
- Structure content to keep listeners on track
- Use your voice to contribute to your message
- Understand what your body language is telling listeners
- Move from point to point smoothly
- Handle a variety of spontaneous questions from the audience
This online workshop is free and open to all students of the FORTHEM Alliance - regardless of their study program or academic progress -and you can receive a certificate of participation upon request.
